New System Installed for Cleaner Air
In December, CFEC worked with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools to install new Needle-Point Bipolar Ionization (NPBI) systems at The Children's Center and The Special Children's School. This vital project was added to our capital projects list this year due to the pandemic. Because CFEC serves medically complex and immunocompromised children, we felt it was critical that our buildings have the best air filtration possible. By installing the NPBI technology, we are able to reduce airborne viruses through better indoor air. The technology purifies indoor air by reducing airborne particulates, odors and pathogens — all while saving energy consumption and lowering our carbon footprint. The system is able to deliver clean indoor air without producing ozone or other harmful byproducts.
