Therapies
Therapeutic interventions are provided based on the individual needs of each child.
We provide therapeutic interventions, including physical, speech/language pathology, occupational, and horticulture therapies for families who need these services.
Therapeutic Services
-
Physical therapy focuses on developing, restoring, and preserving mobility. Services include one-on-one therapy, environment modifications, and collaboration with families, physicians, equipment vendors, and outside agencies.
-
Occupational therapy evaluates motor skills for playing, school performance, and daily activities and compares those skill levels to what is considered developmentally appropriate. Gaps are addressed to improve cognitive, physical, and motor skills that foster independence and encourage self-care.
-
Speech/language pathology uses many techniques to promote communication and participation, including spoken language, sign language, assistive technology, and augmentative and alternative communication. Activities include pretend play, vocabulary and concept development, and expressive language.
-
Horticultural therapy brings nature-based programs into our indoor and outdoor classrooms. Lessons are hands-on and designed to strengthen memory, enhance cognitive abilities, build task initiation, develop language skills, and increase socialization levels.
