Volunteer
Give an hour, change a life.
When we think about the lives touched by even just an hour of your time, we could not be more grateful. Our families are stronger because of your help and our children are happier. Here’s how you can help.
We offer volunteer shifts on Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 A.M - 11 A.M. and 3 P.M. - 5 P.M.
For more information about volunteering, email Regina Craven at regina@thecfec.org

Join the Volunteer Readers Club
Share in the enjoyment of reading with our children by allowing them to follow along as you read aloud to them in an enthusiastic and expressive manner! This can be a single session or a recurring activity.

Support the Infant & Toddler Classes
The CFEC enrolls 40 children ages birth to 3 each year in our Infant & Toddler Program. The goal of the program is to provide developmentally appropriate education for very young children with special needs, as well as a complete range of therapeutic interventions.

Horticultural Therapy Projects
The Horticultural Therapy program is offered to all students at The Children’s Center and The Special Children’s School. Our sensory gardens are significant places of learning for the children. We often are looking for helping hands to keep our gardens looking and operating at their best – that includes planting, weeding, mulching and we can always use help from anyone with basic (or advanced) carpentry skills.

Support Our Families
We are always looking for volunteers to become a trained support parents so you can be available to other families who have children with special needs. We also need “Chat & Snack” hosts at Brenner Children’s Hospital and Forsyth Medical Center, where we host dinners for families in the NICU’s, and support at our community engagement events.
