New KBR Grant

The CFEC is pleased to announce it has received a $110,000 grant from Kate B. Reynolds Trust in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The new funding will allow the Family Support Network to use new and updated curriculum materials from the Triple P Positive Parenting Program to work with families who have children with special needs to build resilience and mitigate the impact of adverse childhood experiences during the current public health crisis. We currently provide Triple P to parents who have children under five, but this funding will allow us to expand to families who have children twelve and under. In addition, we will offer “Powerful Tools for Caregivers'' to families. Through a series of virtual and in-person (when appropriate and in compliance with public health guidelines) workshops, seminars, training and meetings FSN staff will use grant funds to help parents navigate the challenges presented by the pandemic, distribute reliable and meaningful information about how and where to access special healthcare information related to vaccinations and other resources, and share positive parenting strategies that will help to develop their child’s emotional well-being and resilience.
