Fall Teacher Grants Awarded

The CFEC offers two rounds of Teacher & Therapist grants each year. Staff at The Special Children's School and The Children's Center are eligible to apply for up to $250 each. Grants can be used to support special classroom supplies, field trips, or whatever a teacher needs most. The Fall winners and their projects are listed below.THE CHILDREN'S CENTER:
- Adrienne Lee - Project to fund materials to provide stimulation to wheelchair bound students and positive reinforcement for students who are easily overstimulated.
- Olivia Owens - Project to fund a STEM and Diversity expansion in the classroom.
- JoAnn Yates - Project to fund items for the outdoor classroom and classroom activities.
- Jennifer Nelson - Project to fund more legos that include people.
- Chris Sladky - Project to fund sensory Items and preferred items of students.- Michelle Capraro - Project will fund a subscription to Starfall that will help teach basic English reading & writing skills and for items to help with sensory needs of students. THE SPECIAL CHILDREN'S SCHOOL: 
- Kristel Hunter - Project to fund materials to support students learn in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math).
- Jennifer Epple - Project to fund Butterfly Hatching Kits for each classroom.
- Cheryl Whitaker & Jessica McGrady - Project to fund items that align with the Extended Content Science standards that are taught in the classroom. 
- Stacy Church -  Project to fund more opportunities for students to learn and identify feelings to increase their social emotional well being within themselves and that of their peers.
- Whitney Funderburk - Project to fund developing a library of interactive toys and activities to engage students with developmental delays, AU, and multiple disabilities.
- Darlene Jackson - Project will fund items that will enhance pretend play to help with cognitive & social development as well as with language development.
- Brandy Dale - Project will fund items to help make the writing center and cozy corner more inviting to students.
