Parenting is hard work. Let us add tools to your parenting toolbox! This is one of three 90-minute seminars that teach the Triple P Positive parenting approach. Each seminar offers strategies and principles that are helpful when raising a child with a disability.
Parents are often uncertain how to manage problem behavior in ways that help children learn alternative and more adaptive behavior to take its place. This seminar provides six key steps of how to do this. The steps covered include:
• Tracking the behavior.
• Understanding why the behavior is occurring.
• Changing events that occur before the problem.
• Encouraging alternative behavior.
• Removing accidental rewards.
• Putting the plan into action.
You must register using the link below. To be eligible, families must be residents of Forsyth County and have a child with special needs age five or younger. Incentives are available for workshop participants! You may choose to attend one seminar or all three. For more information, contact Lakeisha Williams – lakeishafsn@thecfec.org or 336-703-4289.
