As the autumn season unfolds, it is a wonderful moment in time to celebrate the difference our programs are making in the lives of children and families. Recently, one parent shared with us that if they were asked to describe CFEC in one phrase they would say “Life-Changers and Difference Makers” because attending the Infant & Toddler program has improved their entire family’s life “astronomically.” This family enrolled their medically complex child, Sophia, earlier this year. Before coming to CFEC, Sophia’s parents were struggling to find a way to balance their work schedules with Sophia’s needs for childcare, therapy and doctor appointments. They were unable to find childcare due to Sophia’s special needs. Her parents heard repeatedly that “we would love to have her, but our staff is not trained” to care for Sophia.
CFEC’s Infant & Toddler program offers the earliest interventions, therapies and educational opportunities for children ages Birth to 36 months with special health care needs in an inclusive environment. In addition, CFEC’s full day care enables parents – like Sophia’s – to thrive in their careers with the knowledge that their child is in a safe, nurturing, and educationally stimulating environment.
